Empower Panchayats with such powers and authority as may be necessary to enable them to function as institutions of Local Government along with devolution of powers and responsibilities with respect to preparation of plans and schemes for economic development and social justice.

RaahGiri

Raahgiri Day is India’s first sustained car-free day. Launched in Gurgaon – India’s “Millennium City”. Every Sunday, a particular street or a section of a road in a locality is kept closed to cars and other automobiles in the morning, the time fixed from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. And the street is open only to the public on foot and they can use it according to their will. The citizens on that day get involved in recreational and leisure activities.

“Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” Campaign

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was launched by the Prime Minister on 22nd January, 2015 at Panipat, Haryana. BBBP addresses the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and related issues of women empowerment over a life-cycle continuum. There is a strong emphasis on mindset change through training, sensitization, awareness raising and community mobilization on ground.
